Our story

MTHRBORD.STUDIO started on a mixing desk, not in a code editor. We spent years chasing the sound of the hardware we loved, and eventually decided to build it ourselves.

After MTHRBORD's 10th anniversary, we finally opened up a plugin division. It's something we always wanted to do, and we finally decided to take the plunge.

Who we are

We're a small team of just two: C1PH3R and R3D. We're good friends who share a passion for art and technology. R3D is the technical mind, and C1PH3R brings the experience with audio and gear. We teamed up to build something unique together.

Philosophy

• Model the thing, not the idea of the thing. Every plugin starts with measurements of real units.
• Imperfection is the feature. Drift, saturation and component tolerance are modelled, not sanded off.
• Hardware-inspired UI. If it looks like you can grab it, you can.
